Sundance Foundry Grill

Eating OutWe are so lucky in Utah County. Great people, beautiful scenery, strong values, growing arts, fun recreation — we have it all.
In the past two years, I have seen a wealth of wonderful new restaurants flourish in Utah County as our palettes have grown and we appreciate more than just fast food. Standing as an icon in the food world is the original 5-star dining experience in Utah County that has weathered the true test of time: Sundance.
A 20-minute gorgeous canyon drive transports you to a bit of heaven at the world-renowned Sundance Resort. I love it!
I often think of the Tree Room for fine dining but equally as delicious is the Foundry Grill. The Foundry’s price structure is affordable for casual dining yet offers the same alpine ambiance and attention to excellence as the Tree Room.
I recently dined there for Sunday brunch and was delighted with the creations of their new “Chef Mark.” Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Blueberry Compote … a savory Asiago French Toast with Tomato Basil Jam … Miso-marinated Roast Beef with Wasabi Aioli … Poached Eggs with Hollandaise and Seafood Hash … just to name a few!
When dining for brunch, I love to see the chefs flipping “made to order” omelettes, and I always save room for the dessert table. At Sundance, they are known for more “comfort” desserts, and I loved the White Chocolate and Raspberry Bread Pudding and the Fresh Peach Pie. Yum! During the week, the Foundry Grill is known for Angus burgers and wood-fired pizza.
With summer upon us, here’s my recommendation for a great summer activity: get your hiking boots, drive to Sundance, spend several hours exploring the breathtaking mountain on foot — or on bike or horseback. Then end the experience with lunch or dinner at the Foundry Grill.
Sundance guests travel from far and wide to experience what we have in our backyard. Live it up, Utah! Take advantage of this treasure on the backside of Timp.
Remember until next time to fill your life with scrumptious food and joy.
