Diamond Fork in February
Got out today thinking it would be a nice and sunny President’s Day. Nothing but snow and rain on the river. The good thing is it kept the other fly-fisherman away. I had the river to myself. The day started off great with the first hole producing 3 brown trout one at 16 inches. The rest of the river for a mile or so produced fish in every hole. Patterns included prince’s, pheasant tails and midges. Here are a few pics from the day. Also had an encounter with 6 turkey’s. I called to them and they talked back a little. They are such huge birds. I also talked with a land owner near the river, he was heading up on his snow mobile to gather his horses in the mountains. He told me that he was having property problems with Robert Redford near his land. I guess there is some dispute as to where his starts and Redford’s ends. It turned out to be an interesting conversation. I didn’t know Redford owned property near the Diamond Fork river.
