As Good As New

I’m sure I should have been born Italian. I love the culture, the food, the language, the country and the people. So when a new Italian restaurant shows up in town, you can be sure I’ll try it.
Terra Mia Ristorante opened across from the new University Mall theaters, and it is the perfect place for a quick bite before or after taking in a movie. I loved their wood-fired brick oven and authentic thin-crust pizzas. You can select one of their signature combinations or create your own custom concoction. I chose to go “custom” with rapini (wild broccoli), corn, provolone and smoked bacon on the classic margherita pizza.
I took my whole family so we were able to try several pizzas, salads, pastas and bread. One salad of note, which we all enjoyed, was the Caprese Salad with fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil and homemade rustic bread. We like it drizzled with aged balsamic and olive oil. The mozzarella was thick-cut and velvety soft … just the way I like it!
While Pizzeria Seven Twelve is still setting the restaurant standard of the best Utah Valley pizza, the new Terra Mia is making a name for itself with prices significantly less than Pizzeria Seven Twelve.
For dessert we tried the Terra Mia gelato, which is another great idea for after a movie. Next time, I’d like to try their tiramisu and cream puffs, which are made fresh onsite.
Remember to fill your life with scrumptious food and joy … until next time!
